Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mining Company ■
Squaw Gulch VLF Phase 2A Part 1 ■
Record of Construction Report
475.0106.032
July 22,2019
3.2.5. Leak Detection Fill
The Squaw Gulch VLF Phase 2A Part 1 area was constructed by placing 111 cy of leak
detection fill (LDF). The particle size distribution and Atterberg limits testing frequencies
were one sample for every 10,000 cy. One LDF sample was required to be tested for
particle size and Atterberg limits. One LDF samples was tested with passing results. LDF
laboratory testing is summarized in Table 9 and individual test results are presented in
Appendix 1.5.
3.2.6. Soil Liner Fill
The Squaw Gulch VLF Phase 2A Part 1 area was constructed by placing 24,670 cy of soil
liner fill (SLF). The particle size distribution, Atterberg limits, laboratory compaction, and
permeability testing frequencies were one sample for every 4,000 cy. Seven SLF record
samples were required to be tested for particle size distribution, Atterberg limits,
laboratory compaction, and permeability testing. Ten SLF record samples were tested
with passing results. SLF laboratory testing is summarized in Table 10 and individual test
results are presented in Appendix 1.6.
The nuclear density/moisture testing frequency for SLF is one test for every 500 cy. A
minimum of 50 SLF nuclear density/moisture tests were required. A total of 54 SLF
nuclear density/moisture tests were performed with passing results. The depth check
frequency for SLF is two checks for every acre. A minimum of 31 SLF depth checks were
required. A total of 32 SLF depth checks were performed with passing results. SLF
nuclear density/moisture testing and SLF depth checks are presented in Tables 12 and
13 respectively.
3.2.7. Drain Cover Fill
The Squaw Gulch VLF Phase 2A Part 1 area was constructed by placing 49,339 cy of drain
cover fill (DCF). The particle size distribution and Atterberg limits testing frequencies
were one sample for every 20,000 cy. Three DCF samples were required to be tested for
particle size and Atterberg limits. Six DCF samples were tested with passing results. DCF
laboratory testing is summarized in Table 11 and individual test results are presented in
Appendix 1.7.
3.3. Concrete and Cemented Rockfill Quality Assurance
The CQA Monitor observed the placement of all concrete and cemented rockfill used to
remediate the Squaw Gulch VLF Phase 2 underground workings. A total of 2,621 cy of concrete
was used during remediation. The concrete was tested for slump, temperature, and
compressive strength at a rate of one test per 50 cy. A minimum of 52 samples were required
P:\Projects\0106.032 VLF2 Phase 2 CQA\J-REPORTS\ROC Report 1\Cert Report-Phase 2A Part 1\475.0106.032 CCV PHASE 2A Part 1
ROC REPORT.docx
Page 12
