PERMIT#:M-2014-064
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE:July 24,2019
OBSERVATIONS
This is a routine monitoring inspection of the VanCleve Pit conducted by Eric Scott of DRMS. DRMS met with
permittee representative/operator/property owner Colby VanCleve at approximately 13:00 and toured the
site with him. The site was accessed from County Road 104 and the site identification sign was present (photo
1).
As noted on the first page of this report, several of the required permit boundary markers were missing at the
time of the inspection. This issue will need to be resolved by replacing all permit boundary markers as needed
to define the existing approved permit area, and verify that the affected area is within the approved permit
boundary.
Activity at the site was taking place in the center of the permitted area. Mining was not occurring during the
inspection, but trucks were loaded from the existing product stockpiles. DRMS would like to take this
opportunity to remind the operator that the approved mining plan allows for a maximum of 15 acres of
disturbance at any one time. If the operator wishes to revise the mining plan to allow for additional
disturbance area, a Technical Revision to the permit and a bond increase to cover the additional proposed
affected area will be required.
No other issues were noted during this inspection.
Inspection Contact Address
Colby Van Cleave
VCA Aggregates LLC
4459 W.Pioneer Drive
Greeley,CO 80634
