COLORAD
Division of Water Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 821
Denver, CO 80203
Consideration of 110(1) Hard Rock Reclamation Permit Application
To: Eric Scott, Environmental Protection Specialist
From: Justina P. Mickelson, Physical Science Researcher/Scientist
Date: July 22, 2019
Re: Bullion King, Permit No. M-2018-052
Operator: Steve Hunter
NE4NE4 Sec 31, SW4SE4 Sec 30, in T6S, R77W, 61h P.M., Summit County
CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL
Steven Hunter requests a reclamation only permit and proposes to reclaim the affected land to
residential use. The proposal does not anticipate exposing groundwater. Therefore, exposure of
ground water must not occur during or after.
According to our records, Well permit no. 64822-F, was issued on September 12, 2007 for the
expansion of use of an existing well located in the SW '/ of the SE '/ of Section 30, Twp. 6
South, Rng. 77 West of the 6th P.M, on a residential site, more particularly described as the
Bullion King Lode, MS 2988. The well permit is approved on the condition that it must operate in
accordance with the plan for augmentation, in contract with Vidler Water Co. Inc. The use of
ground water from the well is limited to0.445 acre-foot for ordinary household purposes inside a
single family dwelling, the irrigation of up to 1,000 square-feet of home gardens and lawns, and
a hot tub. The pumping rate shall not exceed 15 gpm. The permit is valid for those uses listed
above.
Please note that the site is located within an over appropriated stream basin. All surface and
ground water diversions in over appropriated areas must be made in priority or must be fully
augmented so as to not cause injury to senior water rights.
COMMENTS:
This office has no objections to the Reclamation Only Permit Application so long as the site
operates under a valid well permit for any ground water exposure or use and as long as the uses
of the existing well for the residence do not exceed those allowed under the well permit.
The applicant may contact the State Engineer's Office with any questions.
Cc: Division 5 Engineer
Division 36 Water Commissioner
1313 Sherman Street, Room 821, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3581
John W. Hickentooper, Governor I Robert Randatt, Executive Director I Kevin Rein, State Engineer
