PERMIT#: M-1988-048
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE:July 2,2019
OBSERVATIONS
This was an acreage reduction inspection for the 112c Carr Gravel Resource site. The inspection was conducted
by Eric Scott of DRMS. DRMS met with Lynn Mayer-Shults of L.G. Everist at approximately 1300. The site
entrance is located on the south side of Weld County 126 RD approximately 500 feet east of the Union Pacific
railroad tracks on the east side of the Town of Carr. The required postings were present at the site entrance.
This site is currently an active 112c sand and gravel operation. The acreage reduction request was submitted to
DRMS on June 10, 2019 and notices were sent out to all parties by DRMS on June 14, 2019. The proposed
release is for the remainder of the"North Area" area (273 acres) located immediately south of the"trans-load"
area.
The north area is well vegetated with grasses and meet release requirements at this time (see attached photos).
The gravel access road within the county right-of-way along the east side of the"north area"will remain after
release for continued use by the permittee. Although cheat-grass appears to be widespread in the area
surrounding the permit, efforts to control it within the permit area will need to continue. These efforts will be
beneficial for the remaining permit area when reclamation vegetation is established.
DRMS will approve the release of the 273 acres and the release will become final as soon as the public
comment period has passed if no objections are received. Please ensure that all future submittals to DRMS
reflect the new permit boundary and acreage totals.
No other issues or problems were noted during the inspection. This concluded the inspection and DRMS left
the site at approximately 1400.
Inspection Contact Address
Lynn Mayer Shults
L. G.
