I was born and
raised in Silverton and have worked in mining and reclamation in the San Juan Mountains for over 30
years. During that time I have installed bulkheads to prevent groundwater discharges on a much larger
scale than what is proposed for the Von Doose Mine. I have reviewed Atlas Mining and Reclamation
LLC's permit application and I believe the protections they have proposed to prevent acid mine drainage
and groundwater discharges are adequate and I support their opening and operating the Von Doose
Mine as proposed. As a local landowner and an experienced miner, I believe they have put forth a
responsible prop
Sincerely,
James Kaiser
