The area of concern in his email is
within the requested area for the SL-11 bond release.
Clayton Wein
Environmental Protection Specialist
C0Lo R A D 0
A co i0a..'a Division of'Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
Sherman1313 r t, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
clayton.wei tt ® I I
---------- Forwarded message---------
From: David Fox < r r >
Date: Mon, Jun 24, 2019 at 11:55 AM
Subject: Fontanari Irrigation
To: Clayton Wein - DNR<clayton.wei >
Cc: t grosse < j >
Good Morning Clayton,
received a call from Mr. Fontanari on Friday, 6/21/22, in which he indicated that a new surface soil crack had
appeared across the top of Tract 70 in the vicinity of Object IDs 53—57.This is the same location where a large hole
was noted in my June 20, 2019 email to DRMS.This soil crack was not apparent when I was on onsite on Tuesday,
June 18th.These Object ID's are associated with the DRMS inspection report, dated October 16, 2018.
1 was onsite on Saturday,June 22nd, and took the attached pictures of the surface soil crack. The first attached image
shows the general aerial location of the soil crack. The crack extends for approximately 400 ft. in an east-west
directions across the top of the Fontanari's Tract 70.The crack terminates on the west side of Fontanari's Tract 70
near a Subsidence Control Point (SCP 104), noted in the DRMS inspection report as Object ID 73, and terminates
approximately 400 ft.to the east where the topography drops. I believe that the location of this crack corresponds to
the approximate location of the subsidence cracks noted in the Jeff Magers's report entitled "Surface Subsidence
Over a Room-and-Pillar Mine in Western Colorado, dated January 1, 1993.
