6/24/2019 State.co.us Executive Branch Mail-Fwd: Fontanari Irrigation
was onsite on Tuesday morning, June 18, 2019, and observed several concerning new events that had occurred in
areas that are being irrigated. IMG 5047 shows a large hole that has opened up just to the south of the previously DRMS
sites identified as Location 55, 56 and 57. This hole measured 4 ft wide, 4—6 ft. deep, 10— 12 ft. long with a deeper
cavernous opening extending under the ground. It was deemed unsafe to get a measurement in the underground portion
of the hole.
IMG 5052 shows an irrigation lateral with the irrigation water entering a surface depression (hole) and disappearing under
the ground surface. This location is just to the east of the previously DRMS sites identified as Location 55, 56 and 57.
Numerous surface cracks were also observed in the area.
will continue to monitor the irrigated areas, however, in light of these new events, it may be appropriate for you or your
staff to document these new events.
If you have any questions please let me know.
David Fox, P.E.
Fox Engineering Solutions, Inc.
P.O.
