(i) The pit will not intercept any groundwater due to its slope and water runoff. Ponds of <br /> water may occur for a short period of time after a significant rainfall.No detrimental <br /> effects of quality are anticipated. The County will stay within two feet above the seasonal <br /> high groundwater elevation. <br /> (j) Applicable water laws should not be affected. Cheyenne County, as a political <br /> subdivision of the State of Colorado,will always adhere to Colorado Water laws <br /> regarding injury to existing water rights. <br /> (k) Any exposed refuse encountered will be disposed of properly in the Cheyenne County <br /> Landfill if warranted. Acid of toxic materials will be carefully analyzed and disposed of <br /> according to all local, state, and federal rules and regulations. If acid or toxic materials <br /> are found, Cheyenne County will initially contact the Division of Reclamation, Mining <br /> and Safety as well as the local and state health departments for their expertise in dealing <br /> with situations such as this. <br /> (1) There will be no disturbance to hydrologic balance. Reclamation will be consistent with <br /> the future land use of native pasture ground. Cheyenne County, as Operator, does not <br /> intend to interrupt any of the groundwater sources. Operator intends to maintain the <br /> proposed excavation depth of 15 feet. If water accumulates in the pit,two possible <br /> actions will be taken. 1) The operator contends that near the pit there is a dry stream bed, <br /> and if rainwater collects it will naturally flow out of the pit in accordance with the natural <br /> direction of the stream. 2) If the collected water does not flow out of the pit naturally, the <br /> operator intends to manually pump the water out of the pit. <br /> (m)Sand and gravel deposits may be stockpiled on the site for use on county roads. There <br /> will be no on-site screening, crushing, asphalt, mulching, leaching, or mixing. <br /> (n) Primary commodity to be mined is sand and gravel for use on county roads.No <br /> secondary commodities will be mined. <br /> (o) No incidental products will be mined. <br /> (p) There will not be any explosives used in conjunction with the mining or reclamation. <br />
