Basil Bear of Bowie Resources, LLC, was not
in the office when the inspector checked in at the bowie No. 2 Mine office. Art was notified that the Division
would be conducting a partial inspection at the Bowie no. 1 Mine. Basil met up with the inspector at the East
Mine.

The weather was warm and clear. The mine site was dry, but the area has received considerable rainfall over the
past month or so.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Impoundments 4.05.6,
4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The inspection began at the West mine. The West mine has been reclaimed except for the two sediment
ponds. These ponds have been approved to be reclaimed, but the operator is doubtful that they will be able to
conduct the work this summer (2019). Both ponds at the West Mine were dry. Both ponds were well vegetated
with perennial grasses. There was no sign that the ponds had held water recently.

All ponds at the East mine and ROM areas have been reclaimed. The ponds are stabilizing well, with a good stand
of perennial vegetation growing up through the erosion control fabric. The small slump downslope from
reclaimed pond no. 1 does not appear to have moved any further and is not impeding the drainage or water flow in
the drainage.

The ponds at the load out were not inspected during this inspection.

ROADS – Rule 4.03
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation
4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
