to manufacture asphalt and concrete products. This site has no known other secondary
commodities that are of commercial value; therefore, no secondary products are contemplated at
this time.
The deposit to be mined is unconsolidated and as such it is anticipated that no explosives will be
required to be used during mining operations. Mining will be executed by an MSHA approved
contractor, Schofield Excavation, and the public will not be allowed on site without being
accompanied by a company representative. Part 46 of MSHA will be followed at all times on this
site.
2. Mining Timetable
The Birdseye Pit is expected to mine 150,000 tons of material a year. The Operator estimates that
the resource contains five million tons of material and thus the mine will be able to operate for
the next 25 years. The time table below is based on that assumption.
Table D-1 Mining Timetable
Years Activity
1 Install access and set up processing area.
2-3 Pit 1 mining
3-9 Pit 2 mining:Pit 1 reclamation completed.
9-20 Pit 3 mining; Pit 2 reclamation completed.
20-25 1 Pit 4 mining;Pit 3 reclamation completed.
The mining schedule is planned to minimize disturbance by reclaiming areas as additional
mining is undertaken. Note: If large contracts are awarded to the site, production could increase
to the permit maximum, thereby curtailing the life of the pit. On the other hand, if contracts are
less than anticipated, the life of the pit could be extended. This table is based on a reasonable
projection of average production rates.
3. Mine Facilities and Operation
The site will contain the following facilities; it is noted where applicable whether or not the
facility is portable and whether it will have any fuel storage associated with it.
• Truck scales
• Mine office (portable trailer)
Birdseye Pit (.rsx t cwwki and tsstwiato,N JA
June 2019 D-5
