The Bowie No. 1 mine is a reclaimed <br />underground mine with an unreclaimed train load out. The loadout has been partially recliamed,with buildings, <br />rail and some equipment removed. The weather was raining hard with heavy wet snow at the higher elevations. <br />Due to the inclement weather, the inspector was unable to access the reclaimed mine area, ROM area, or west <br />mine. The inspection was limited to the loadout area. <br /> <br />No mine personnel accompainied the inspection. No mine personnel remain on the site. Mine per sonnel and <br />records are housed at the Bowie No. 2 Mine located several miles to the east of the Bowie No. 1 loadout. <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> A mule deer buck, with new antler nubs, was browsing at the load out area. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4 Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; <br /> The loadout pond was wet but not holding any water. The Farmer’s Ditch was flowing. The ditch on the <br />north side of the pond was not flowing and there was no evidence of seepage into the pond. The willows remain <br />cut down. Grasses have vegetated the eastern portion of the pond near the riser pipe. No concerns were identified <br />with the pond. <br /> <br />Ditches and berms throughout the site were functioning well. Runoff was flowing to the pond or sumps as <br />appropriate. There was no evidence of the sediment control system not functioning as designed. <br /> <br />No problems were noted with runoff, ditches and the pond at the Highway stockpile area. <br /> <br />ROADS – Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and
