The'leak detection system at the TSF Collection Pond was inspected May 30,2019. A total of 730 gallons
(24.3 GPD) were evacuated from the leak detection system and pumped to the LTF. The LTF underdrain
system flow was measured to be approximately 34.0 gallons per minute (gpm).
West Pit Waste Water Treatment Plant
During the month of May 2019, the West Pit Water Treatment Plant was operated under Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment(CDPRE)CDPS Permit No. C00045675 for discharge into
the Rito Seco alluvial aquifer. During the month of May, 8,883,600 gallons (27.26 acre-feet) of treated
water was discharged to the Rito Seco and 500,400 gallons (1.54 acre-feet) of water transferred from the
West Pit to the LTF. There was no sludge transferred from the water treatment plant drying pad to the LTF.
BMRI performed the monthly visual seepage expression inspections on May 30, 2019 in the historic
seepage area identified in Figure 2 of the permit. No seepage expressions were observed in the historic
seepage area during May 2019.
BMRI measured the monthly West Pit backfill, alluvial and monitoring wells as required under in the
QA/QC Plan. Measurements obtained for the monthly wells are shown in Table 3.
