It is our understanding that DRMS has requested approval from the FOR of placing spoils
excavated during the Mayflower flood bypass tunnel—Phase 2 construction along the right side of
the Mayflower impoundment area.
The material from the Mayflower bypass tunnel construction will be placed in the purple hatched area
shown on the attached Figure 1 provided by Climax. This area is also part of a larger area
designated for tree and topsoil removal this year as part of the continuing expansion of the Mayflower
tailings impoundment. Therefore, there is little risk of trees entering pond due to the spoils placement
activities. Considering this and reviewing current and potential future dam construction limits it is
acceptable to place the spoils in the proposed area.
General information and Closing
AECOM represents that our services are performed within the limits prescribed by the Client in a
manner consistent with the level and skill ordinarily exercised by other consultants under similar
circumstances. No representation to the Client, expressed or implied, and no other warranty or
guarantee is included or intended.
Please do not hesitate to call us with any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Lisa R. a ne, PE Richard R.
