The nearest and most analogous mine workings are located on U.S. Forest Service <br /> land at approximately the same elevation,500 feet to the north of the proposed Von Doose drift. The similar <br /> scale,parallel historic workings consist of a series of drifts and stopes that intersect what AMR believes to <br /> be the same structure that it intends to explore. No groundwater is encountered in the historic workings, <br /> no seeps or springs occur anywhere near or above the project area,and there are no intermittent or perennial <br /> creeks in close proximity to the proposed underground operations. Based on these observations, the local <br /> water table is inferred to be approximately the equivalent elevation of Corkscrew Gulch,which is 540 feet <br /> away from and 200 feet lower in elevation than the nearest proposed underground operations. <br /> The closest well is located approximately 1.9 miles from the permit boundary. It is associated with the Red <br /> Mountain Lodge at the top of Red Mountain Pass. It is located on the far western flank of Red Mountain <br /> No.3 at the valley bottom near a small pond on the divide between Red Mountain Creek and Mineral Creek <br /> which flows into San Juan County. Depth to water is 36 feet and it yields 10 gallons per minute. <br /> Page 6 of 7 <br />
