• ABA analyses yield low NNP (-3.1 for bedrock and 1.3 for topsoil) indicating a low buffering
capacity for both samples. Both the acid generation and neutralization measures are low.
• The paste pH ranges from 5.3 for topsoil to 6.1 for bedrock. Other general parameters of alkalinity,
bicarbonate and carbonate demonstrate the buffering capacity of the materials is low.
• The forms of sulfur indicate that the total values are low. The largest sulfur form that contributes
to the total concentrations is organic residual in both samples, which is the least reactive form.
Pyritic and sulfate forms are very low.
Analyte Units Topsoil Bedrock
Aluminum mg/L 0.12 0.1
Antimony mg/L U _ U
Arsenic mg/L 0.0003 U
-Barium mg/L 0.005 U
Beryllium mg/L U U
Cadmium mg/L U U
Calcium mg/L 0.3 0.1
Chromium mg/L U U
Cobalt mg/L U U
Copper mg/L U U
a
Iron mg/L 0.19 0.19
-
a Lead mg/L 0.0002 0.0005
in
Magnesium mg/L U U
Manganese mg/L 0.033 U
Mercury mg/L U U
Nickel mg/L U U
Potassium mg/L 1.5 1.1
Selenium mg/L 0.0002 0.0001
Silver mg/L U U
Sodium mg/L 0.7 0.7
Thallium mg/L U U
Vanadium mg/L U U
Zinc mg/L U U
Acid Generation Potential t CaCO3/Kt 3.75 9.06
Acid Neutralization Potential t CaCO3/Kt 5 6
¢m -
Acid-Base Potential(NNP) t CaCO3/Kt 1.3 -3.1
Neutralization Potential as CaCO3 % 0.50 0.60
pH,Saturated Paste units 5.3 6.1
Solids,Percent % 92.6 81.3
Sulfur Organic Residual % 0.08 0.20
Sulfur Pyritic Sulfide % 0.02 0.05
w
Sulfur Sulfate % 0.02 0.04
,A Sulfur Total % 0.12 0.29
Total Sulfur minus Sulfate % 0.10_ 0.25
Bicarbonate as CaCO3 mg/L U 2.3
Z' Carbonate as CaCO3 mg/L U U -
Chloride mg/L U U
t Conductivity @25C umhos/cm 7.3 9.8
Hydroxide as CaCO3 mg/L U U _
3 Sulfate mg/L U 1.8
Total Alkalinity mg/L U 2.3
The complete lab reports from ACZ Labs detailing the SPLP and ABA results are included with this Exhibit
B as Attachment B 1 (topsoil analysis) and B2 (bedrock analysis).
