Following the approved
new Eagle County Special Use permit modification acceptance and Parks and Wildlife
assurances, adjustments to the DRMS permit#M-1998-014 are necessary.
Changes discussed in this technical revision include: Phase 7 mining—a minor expansion of
mining and reclamation activities to remove the final berm along the north and west sides of the
site.
Attachments included:
DRMS TR Application Form
Map C-2 Mine Plan
Map C-3 Mine Plan cross-sections
Map F-1 Reclamation Plan
CPW Old Castle Support Letter
Phase 7 Mining
Phase 7 mining includes the removal, processing, and distribution of gravels mined from the
final berm along the north and west sides of the site. This expansion reflects the desire of the
landowner to change the final condition of the property. Maps C-2 and F-1 show the addition of
Phase 7 mining where mining will daylight out over the valley floor. However, during active
mining, a short stormwater berm, approximately 2-6 feet high, will be maintained to facilitate
proper stormwater drainage into the site and eliminate overflow into the Eagle River. Map C-3
cross-sections show the change in berm height across the pit along Phase 7 mining.
