C-27 <br /> and separate undesired clayey materials from the desired silica product, with the attrition product reporting to a <br /> sump. The slurried material will then be pumped to a second cyclone separator, from which overflow will report <br /> to the water clarifier. Filter presses will be utilized to reduce the water content of the slurry prior to its delivery to <br /> the fines recovery pit. Filtrate will be introduced to the clarifier unit(where polymers may be employed to facilitate <br /> the settling process) and the resultant clarified water re-introduced(recycled)to the wash process. <br /> Underflow(the intermediate silica product) will report to a dewatering screen, and be subsequently conveyed to a <br /> #20/#140 uncovered stockpile. The (uncovered) stockpile will be utilized to air-dry and decant (through drain- <br /> down) residual water content from the interim product, with drain-down fluids being collected via an underdrain <br /> system and returned to the water clarifier unit. <br /> No hazardous or toxic process "reagents"will be introduced during the wet(or any other)process; however,minor <br /> quantities of polymers (such as Clearwater Industries, Inc. "CW3M")will be utilized to facilitate the fines settling <br /> process. Such polymers are widely and routinely utilized in industrial sand mining and processing facilities <br /> throughout the U.S. and internationally. These products have been demonstrated to be non-toxic, with short <br /> duration degradation characteristics, as discussed in the "Barr White Paper — Environmental Impacts of Water <br /> Treatment Chemicals at Industrial Sand Mines" (Barr Engineering Company; 2013). Both the "white paper" and <br /> the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the CW3M polymer product are provided in Appendix C-1: Use of <br /> Polymers. <br /> Material in the drain-down stockpile will be retrieved via front-end loader, and the material will be loaded directly <br /> into a feed hopper, from which the material will be conveyed to the rotary dryer unit, and then introduced into the <br /> "dry plant". <br /> The"dry plant"will function primarily as a screening plant,to produce the various size fractions that will comprise <br /> the end product. Discharge (i.e., end product) from the "dry plant" is then passed through a cyclone, with waste <br /> particulate being captured in a bag house (and thence conveyed to a radial stacker waste stockpile; and, finished <br /> product being conveyed direct to the truck loadout. <br /> Keenesburg Project—Limited Impact 110 Application_May 24,2019 <br />
