To achieve this, the Operator will use
the best technology available which will maintain environmental integrity.
Mine plan considerations include personnel and equipment safety and
surface protection where required. The Operator will use a combination of
room and pillar and longwall mining with belt haulage.
Room and pillar panels will be developed where longwall mining is not
feasible. Partial pillar recovery of all workings and barrier pillars will proceed
to the extent allowed by safe mining and surface protection concerns.
Longwall panels will be developed as long as practicable within the
geometric constraints of the reserve base. The width of the panels will vary
between 800 and 1,000 feet.
Production from the mine will depend on market conditions. The maximum
expected production from the mine will be 6.0 million tons per year.
Operation Description
The fee surface and fee coal reserve consists of 1867 acres. A total of eight
separate coal seams have been correlated and measured in the reserve
area. The B-2 Seam and the D-2 Seam, in ascending order, from the top of
the Rollins Sandstone were commercially viable for mining by underground
methods.
The D-2 Seam reserve area encompasses approximately 1,000 fee coal
acres and the B-2 Seam reserve area encompasses approximately 800 fee
coal acres. Federal Coal lease COC -61209 contains 3,953.95 acres.
2.05-1 - 06/10
