I am submitting photo showing that the
corrective actions you noted were completed before the April 30, 2019 deadline.
Corrective action# 1 - pump and discharge impounded water or file fore a Temporary Substitute Supply Plan
to cover evaporative loss from water areas.
Lakewood chose to pump and discharge the captured stormwater. Attached are photos taken
March 25th, 2019 that show that as much as possible of the storm water that accumulated in the
lower parts of the north end of the clay mine have been pumped . Lakewood Brick is in the process
of developing a permanent stormwater control to deal with stormwater that accumulated in the mine.
Until then all stormwater will be removed from the mine within 72 hours of the end of a storm event.
When the area dries a little, right now it is too muddy due to all of the recent precipitation, the surface
grading can be complete to keep surface runoff from entering the mine.
Corrective action#2- Clean up old tires, scrap metal trash and stained soils from around buildings.
The area around the clay operation building has been cleanup. The steel used in repairing
equipment was retained and should be noted that it's removal is included in the bond. A load of
scrap steel and the old tires were sent to the recycle facilities for disposal. Two loads of trash and
stain soil were been taken to the dump. Lakewood will continue to police this area. The photos show
the tires loaded into an end dump and headed to the recycler.
If you have any question or need more information pleas let me know so I can get it for you.
Sincerely,
7 ar
Stevan L.
