Mr. Griglak, P.E. has conducted
inspections for the placement of earthwork embankment fill material for numerous
commercial, residential and municipal projects in which buildings, roadways and parking
facilities were installed over the placed materials.
Maintenance operations were ongoing at the site at the time of the inspection as a result of the
snow/moisture levels from the time of the last inspection. The south treated water ditch was
found to be in generally good condition though the culvert inlet under the haul road near the
base of the pile needs to be cleaned out and any sediment within the culvert removed (see Pic.
1). The north clean water ditch is still in need of additional cleaning as well as some additional
drainage/embankment work near the new culvert inlet along the north switchback in the haul
road (see Pic. 2). This will ensure that treated water runoff cannot erode/infiltrate the north
clean water ditch and bypass the sediment ponds. Work is scheduled to begin shortly to
relocate the upper portion of the clean water ditch to accommodate the placement of
additional waste material.
The culvert under the haul road located at the top of the waste pile was damaged during
ongoing operations and was in the process of being repaired at the time of the inspection (see
Pic. 3). The pipe that drains into Reach 10 is clear of debris/sediment and appears to be
functioning as designed,
There is significant embankment fill material stockpiled at the base of the waste
pile/embankment (see Pic. 4) waiting to be placed once the road/drainage repairs have been
completed. Waste material has been installed at the top of the waste pile (see Pic. 5) as
P.O.
