Groundwater
monitoring locations Poverty Gulch wells (PGMW-2, PGMW-4), Arequa Gulch Well (CRMW-3A-
35), Grassy Valley well (GVMW-8B), Squaw Gulch wells (SGMW-5, SGMW-6A, SGMW-7A and
SGMW-7B), and Vindicator Valley well (VIN-2A) were reported dry. WCMW-6 was inaccessible
due to snow. Surface water sampling locations in Vindicator Valley (T-2), Arequa Gulch (AG
2.0), and Grassy Valley (GV-02, and GV-03) had no flow and were reported dry, and WCSW-01
was frozen.
As reported March 7, 2019, CC&V collected first quarter compliance groundwater samples from
monitoring well GVMW-8A on February 19, 2019. CC&V received the lab report for these
analyses on March 6, 2019, and upon review, determined that GVMW-8A exceeded established
numeric protection limits for copper and fluoride. Table 1 below lists the exceedance for the
location and the associated parameters.
Table 1.
Sample Value
Location Date Parameter (mg/L) NPL(mg/L) Table Standard (mg/L)
GVMW-8A 2/19/2019 Copper 0.0098 0.008 0.2
GVMW-8A 2/19/2019 Fluoride 2.02 2.00 2.00
As reported on March 19, 2018, CC&V collected first quarter compliance groundwater samples
from monitoring well SGMW-613 on February 27, 2019.
