Revegetation Plan
Attached to this document you will find a Reclamation Plan that was developed by the local NRCS office.
A seed mix will be developed from a seed supplier that will meet the recommendations of the NRCS
office. This seed mix will be developed using the NRCS office"s recommendations along with the
knowledge and expertise of the seed supplier. By using both resources,we will be able to use the best
mixture and application method available to ensure a successful revegetation effort. The same seed mix
will be used for stabilizing temporary topsoil stockpiles that will be salvaged for use during the
reclamation phase.
6.3.4.2: Reclamation Estimate
This estimate is being provided to give the estimated costs to reclaim the proposed pit as required by
the Division under this permit. The estimate addresses using the reclamation methods as stated within
the abovementioned Reclamation Plan. The items we will complete to reclaim the proposed site are
as follows:
1) As only one D8 Caterpillar dozer, or equivalent, will be needed to reclaim the site, mobilization
costs will be minimal. The Town of Limon has a number of contractors that can perform this
work.Because of this,it is estimated that it will only cost$500 to mobilize the D8 to site.
2) The seeding cost is a subcontracted cost which includes all costs associated with the reseeding
effort.
3) Re-grading of the pits exposed surfaces will first require moving approximately 9,565 CY of
material to reshape the areas to the proposed slopes stated within the reclamation plan. This
quantity Is what will be required if the entire 17.86 acres is used for mining activities. The
activity will be completed with an average pushing distance of 150 If using a CAT D8 dozer.Using
this equipment and the provided numbers, the anticipated production will be approximately
275 CY/Hour which requires 34.8 hours to complete the work.At an operated cost(including all
operating expenses) of $199/hour for the D8 dozer, the total work will amount to lump sum
total of$6,925.
4) After the slopes have been reshaped to achieve the appropriate grades as stated within this
plan, approximately 9,565 CY of topsoil(or approved alternative of topsoil mixed with manure
as stated by the NRCS Office) will need to be graded onto the previously prepared surfaces.
Using the same D8 and an average production of 275 CY/hour with the same 35 If average
push,an additional$6,965 will be consumed. This cost also covers ripping the topsoil to
decompact the area before seeding.
5) Using the proposed seed mix and seeding methods proposed by the local MRCS office and local
seed suppliers, reseeding the proposed area will cost a conservative$500/acre.As we are
proposing to disturb 17,86 acres under the expansion, the reseeding cost will total$8,930,
6) Demobilization will mirror mobilization and cost an estimated$500.
