2.05.4(2)(e)
2.05.4(2)(e) Revegetation Plan
(i) Schedule of Revegetation
When the mine reserves are exhausted the mine will be reclaimed and
revegetated. The third and fourth year of reclamation will be used to grade the
disturbed area to approximate original contours, place topsoil on the regraded
area and seeding the area with the approved seed mix. The time frame for
the vegetation establishment could vary from as little as five years to more
than ten years.
Topsoil stockpiles, cut slopes and other disturbed surfaces will be revegetated
during the first available planting season typically October 15th to November
15th.
(ii) Seed Mix
The revegetation objective is to establish on all disturbed land within disturbed
area a diverse, effective and permanent vegetative cover of similar seasonal
variety as that native to the area. The seeded vegetative cover will be
comprised of native species that are desirable and necessary to achieve the
approved postmining land use.
Four seed mixes will be used for revegetation work, one mix for temporary soil
stabilization and three mixes for final reclamation purposes. Table 3.4-2 lists
the seed mix to be used for the interim reclamation and stabilization of topsoil
stockpiles, cut and fill slopes and other disturbed surfaces. Table 3.4-1 a lists
the seed mix for Juniper Woodland. Table 3.4-1b lists the seed mix for
Shadscale Shrubland. Table 3.4-1c lists the seed mix for Greasewood
Shrubland.
PR -02 2.05-42 10/12
