2.05.3 <br />DRILL PADS <br />Drill pads will be constructed where necessary to perform exploratory <br />drilling or other drilling to facilitate the mining operation. A typical drill pad <br />is shown on Figure 2.2-7. Topsoil will be salvaged from the drill pads and <br />stockpiled nearby as shown on the Figure. Mud pits will be constructed if <br />necessary to support the drilling activity. Run-off from the drill pads will <br />typically not go through a treatment facility such as a sediment pond. <br />Where no sediment pond is available, run-off from the drill pads will be <br />filtered through a sediment fence. A sedimentation control plan for drill <br />pads can be found in Exhibit M. <br />When no longer needed, drill pads will be graded to approximate original <br />contour, topsoil replaced and seeded. <br />PR -02 2.05-23- 10/12 <br />
