At the request of Newmont, NewFields personnel inspected the
integrity of the Drain Cover Fill (DCF) material.
Upon visual inspection of the area of concern, the DCF appears to show no signs of displacement
or movement due the impact of the large diameter ore. It is NewFields' opinion that the integrity
of the DCF and underlying geomembrane liner is still intact.
NewFields recommends that Newmont remove all the large diameter ore that is in contact with
the DCF prior to placement of additional ore in this area. Once the oversized material is removed,
the placement of ore can continue.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact the undersigned.
Sincerely,
NewFields Mining Design &Technical Services Reviewed By:
Eric Niebler Jay Janney-Moore, P.E.
Project Resident Project Manger
Attachments: Photos 1 - 3
