BaS UNNAMED SILTY CLAY LOAM, SALINE, 0 TO 2 PERCENT SLOPES
This unit consists of very deep , well drained soils on
toe slopes . These soils formed in residuum and
a ! | uviun derived dominant / y from Mancos shale . The
surface layer is silty c | ay loam about 2 inches thick .
The subsoil is si | ty clay about 22 inches thick . The
substratum to a depth of 60 inches or more is silty
clay loam with strata of fine sandy loam. Permeability
of the Unnamed silty clay loam soil is slow. Available
water rapacity is moderate . Effective rooting depth is _
60 inches or more . Runoff is slow, and the hazard of
water erosion is slight . Piping is a hazard . Baits
moderately to severely affect plant adaptation , growth ,
and water availability . Salts are also severe | y,
c"rrosive to concrete and untreated steel pipe .
