The inspection was <br />completed by Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division). Chuck Seling o of <br />McClane Canyon Mining LLC (MCM) was present for the inspection. The weather was clear with a temperature <br />of 25 degrees F. The ground conditions were mostly dry. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records f or the McClane Canyon Mine are located at the office of J.E. Stover and Associates in Gr and <br />Junction, CO. The records were well maintained and in good condition. Please see the Availability of Records <br />form attached to the end of this report for more details. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Strea m Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> During the inspection the sumps located in the portals area were clear from debris and the trash racks for <br />the discharge outlets were in good condition. The sump for the C-3 drainage basin was holding a small amount of <br />water (Photo 1). There was no discharge from the sumps. Culverts throughout the mine site were clear from <br />obstructions and sediment. Drainage ditches were in good repair and capable of functioning as designed. No <br />erosional concerns were identified. The sediment pond was holding water at the time of the inspection Photo 2). <br />There was no discharge occurring from the pond. The discharge outlet was clear from obstructions and able to <br />function as designed. The embankment was well vegetated and stable. There w ere no indications of er osion or <br />new animal burrows . There are two sumps located near the office area (Photo 3 and 4). Both of the sumps were <br />holding water. The silt fencing was intact and the berms were in good condition. Discharge was not occurring <br />from either of the sumps. East Salt Creek was flowing at the time of the inspection.
