PERMIT #: M-1977-022
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: SJM
INSPECTION DATE: November 15, 2018
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the normal program established by the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The Pit No. 3 Pit is located % mile north of the town of Paonia, Colorado in
Delta County. The site can be accessed from Grand Ave and Shady Lane.
The purpose of the inspection was to observe the reclamation success and determine if the October 19, 2018
request for partial release of the reclamation permit was approvable. Based on the conditions observed
during the inspection the 5.0 Acres requested to be released has been granted. The site was graded
exceptionally well and the reclaimed slopes tie into the adjacent undisturbed slopes in a very natural looking
way. All reclaimed slopes appear to be no steeper than the required 3H:1V. Most of the 5 acres was never
disturbed. The land use is recreation and a trail for the Paonia River Trail runs through the property.
Noxious weeds appeared to be under control and visibly dead.
Photos that show the conditions observed during the inspection are included at the end of this report.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Stephanie Mitchell at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone no. 970-242-5025.
