PERMIT #: M-2018-055
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: SJM
INSPECTION DATE: February 13, 2019
OBSERVATIONS
This was a pre-operation inspection conducted by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) in
response to the Construction Material Regular 112 Operation Reclamation permit application submitted by
Eagle Rocks Aggregate, Inc. Chris Fedrizzi, representing the applicant, was present during the inspection.
Photographs taken at the site during this inspection are included at the end of this report.
The Tower Pit Road Pit is located 1 miles east of Gypsum and will be accessed from HWY 6 and the Airport
Road.
The appropriate public notice sign was in place.
The current site use is Rangeland. The post mining land use will be 22 acres of Industrial Commercial and 15
acres of Rangeland. The permit area will include 36.7 acres, of which 22 acres are expected to be mined. The
unmined acreage will serve as buffer zones and topsoil/overburden stockpile area. It is expected that
sufficient quantities of overburden material will be available on site for reclamation, and that enough topsoil
will be salvaged in order to be distributed over the disturbed areas during reclamation at a depth of no less
than 3 inches. The mined aggregate materials will be processed on site. The mine plan does not plan on
encountering groundwater.
This inspection confirmed that the site conditions were accurately portrayed in the application package
submitted by Eagle Rocks Aggregate, Inc.
The Division has calculated an adequate financial warranty estimate (enclosed) for this site.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Stephanie Mitchell at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone number (970) 242-5025.
