2018 Annual Reclamation Report
Dear Mr. Zuber:
Enclosed is the Annual Reclamation Report form for 2018 for New Elk Mine, 2018
ARR Maps for the East and West Portal, and tables showing ARR calculations in
detail.
NECC staff worked closely with DRMS to get accurate data from previous ARRs and
to get a better version of the ARR Map. Corrections include examining the 2011
ARR which added 30.12 disturbed acres including 4.76 of previously Phase I
released acres. Also, 1.2 acres were added to total disturbed acres for the addition
of the Golden Eagle property in 2017.
These corrections resulted with NECC creating tables to organize reclamation
activity better. The Yearly Reclamation Table (Table 1) shows the calculations for
the ARR form by year, starting in 2004. The Reclamation Activity Table (Table 2)
shows backfill and grade, topsoil, seeded, and redistrubed acres by location and
year. The Entire Site Activity Table (Table 3) shows the acreages for the entire site
along with what year and how many acres were backfill and grade, topsoiled, and
seeded.
