Colowyo Coal Company <br />2018 Annual Reclamation and Hydrology Report <br />SECTION 1— SURFACE AND GROUND WATER DATA <br />RULE REOUIREMENT <br />Rule 4.05.13(4)(c) Monitoring Report Requirements <br />(i) Water quantity data for the four surface monitoring sites is presented in Exhibit IA <br />and 1B of this report. <br />(ii) Water quality data obtained from the nine surface and eleven ground water sites is <br />presented in Exhibit IA and IB of this report. Discharge monitoring reports are <br />submitted to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on a quarterly <br />basis. A copy is forwarded to the CDRMS and is included in this report by reference. <br />(iii) A written interpretation of the data is included. <br />All analytical results from surface and ground water monitoring have been tabulated and <br />are kept on file at Colowyo Coal Company L.P. Historical data is presented in this AHR. <br />The monitoring timeframe for this annual report is from January 1, 2018 through <br />December 31, 2018. A description of the surface and ground water monitoring plan is <br />located in Colowyo's CDRMS Permit, Volumes 1, 12, and 15, Section 4.05.13. <br />GENERAL DISCUSSION <br />Surface Water Data - Surface water monitoring sites are comprised of four upstream (or <br />adjacent) and five downstream sites and are briefly described below (See Maps l0A and <br />lOB in the permit for monitoring locations). Monitoring of each location occurs on a <br />quarterly basis. <br />• New Upper Good Springs Creek (NUGSC) is a downstream site, located south of <br />the mine along State Highway 13. Monitoring has occurred from 1992 to 2018. <br />• Lower Good Spring Creek (LGSC) is a downstream site, located below active <br />mining conditions along State Highway 13. Monitoring has occurred from 1982 <br />to 2018. <br />• Lower Taylor Creek (LTC) is a downstream site, located below active mining <br />conditions along Moffat County Road 17. Monitoring has occurred from 1983 to <br />2018. <br />• Upper West Fork Good Spring Creek (UWFGSC) is an upstream site, located <br />southwest of the mine along State Highway 13. Monitoring has occurred from the <br />4th quarter of 2007 to 2018. <br />Page 3 <br />
