It incorporates post land use while also taking into consideration the present
condition of the soil. There will no watering the seeds and the below seed mix would take care of this
problem, since it was created for water deprived areas that are high in salt. For best results, the mix will
be broadcast seeded. Arkansas Valley Seed has already increased the seed rate accordingly for broadcast
seeding as seen below(also attached). This application should provide the necessary depth for the seeds
and prevent over compaction. The Meadow Foxtail, Garrison is a very light `fluffy' seed and Arkansas
Valley Seed has coated it in a clay to weigh it down and promote it to be evenly distributed throughout
the entire seeded area. If not,the seed tends to clog equipment and bunch up and the seed will ultimately
only be grown in one area. The area will have a disc run through the area prior to the broadcast seeding
and once the seed is applied a harrow drag will be used to ensure the seed is in the soil. There will be no
application of any fertilizers or mulches. In previous reclamation efforts,United had applied Bio sol with
no results.
Once the reclamation efforts have been completed and there are noticeable results, a site visit
with DRMS will be scheduled for release.
