PERMIT#: M-2003-001
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: February 19,2019
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted by DRMS at the Bestway Concrete Nissan Farm Resource
site. There are 134.21 acres currently permitted at this 112c site. The inspection was conducted by Eric Scott
of DRMS. The DRMS representative met with permittee representative Mark Johnson of Bestway Concrete at
the site at approximately 0930.
The site is currently being used by the Central Conservancy District as "in-ground water storage". The
adjacent ditch is used to supply several shallow infiltration areas. The stripped topsoil and overburden from
the construction of the infiltration ponds has been stockpiled near these areas on the site. The SEC) has
previously approved the slurry wall that has been installed at the site. Although mining activity was not taking
place during the inspection, material was being utilized from the existing stockpiles located on site. All site
activity was noted to be taking place within the approved slurry wall which was marked with bright red
fiberglass slats.
It may also be noted that the recent road realignment and expansion that took place near the site entrance
encroached into the originally approved permit boundary.
The only compliance issue noted during this inspection was that the site identification sign was incorrect and
should be modified or replaced to comply with Rule 3.1.12(1) as noted on the first page of this report by the
corrective action date given (3/29/19).
Inspection Contact Address
Mark Johnson
Bestway Concrete Company
301 Centennial Dr.
Milliken, CO 80543
Enclosure
CC:
