3
L
c) There will be no dredge and fill operations.
d) Any temporary ditches constructed across drain ways will be removed after the O
disturbed areas have been re-vegetated and stabilized.
2. Earthen dams may need to be constructed to control drainage as mining proceeds. O
3. All surface areas will be stabilized, including spoil piles, so as to effectively control a
erosion.
WILDLIFE:
L_1
1. Operations and conditions in the gravel pit area will have minimal impact on the wildlife of
this area. This area is not known to be used exclusively for activities critical to the life
cycles of wildlife that require special consideration.
rjj
2. Upon vegetation establishment and maturation, the habitat will be managed as it was
before gravel mining. Vegetation will be established to provide suitable cover and feeding (
material for wildlife (both game and non-game species). )
TOP SOILING: Lj
1. Where present topsoil will be removed prior to gravel mining and stock piled in a section a
of the phase area designated for stock pile storage. If stockpiled for more than one year,
the topsoil (interim) seed mixture will be applied during the growing season that follows
stockpiling.
2. After existing trees for the first phase are harvested for firewood, the remaining shrubs,
forbs and tree limbs along with grasses will be chipped and incorporated into the topsoil ,'
stockpile.
3. The stockpile(s)will be located in area(s) of minimal runoff and disturbance from the L
gravel mining operations.
4. The topsoil stockpile will be handled as little as possible. If relocation of a stockpile is
required, the Board or Division will be contacted for approval by way of a technical
revision.
5.
