January 30, 2019 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine CCW <br />Photo 5: The Raw Water Lagoon. <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES — Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />Refuse Pile 5a was active during the inspection. Refuse was being stockpiled on the site. The slopes of <br />the pile were covered with snow. There were no indications of instability of erosion. Refuse Pile 2/3/4 was <br />inactive and covered with snow. The pile was stable and no erosional issues were observed. <br />ROADS —Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and <br />(6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Access roads throughout the mine site were well maintained and in good condition. Some roads were <br />snow packed and inaccessible. No issues with stability or erosion were noted. The Haul Road was in good <br />condition and well maintained. There were no erosional features or rutting. The road was stable and the <br />associated drainage ditches were free of obstructions. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />Support facilities visited during the inspection include: <br />- Wash Plant / main facilities area <br />- Slot Storage <br />- Nitrogen Plant #2 <br />- RDH -4 <br />- &Vent Shaft No. 2 <br />Support facilities visited during the inspection were in good repair. Berms on the sites were intact and stable.
