Mr. Basil Bear of Bowie Recources, LLC
accompanied the inspection and represented the operator.
The Mine is a reclaimed underground mine. No activity is taking place on site other than maintenance and
monitoring. The mine is snow covered. The weather was snowing heavily and foggy.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The Load out pond was visible through the snow fall. The pond has a small amount of snow on the
bottom, but no standing water. No problems were noted with this pond. The remaining ponds at the west Mine
were inaccessible due to snow.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
The mine site is snow covered and quiet. There was no sign of unauthorized access. The heavy snowfall,
and low lying clouds (fog) made observations very limited. The ROM reclaimed area was in good condition and
snow covered.
ROADS — Rule 4.03
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6), Reclamation
4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
The mine is reclaimed with minimal activity on-site. As such, BRL does not plow roads in the winter
months unless there is a need for access. The road at the load out had been plowed, but the access road at the East
Mine, and the County road up to the West Mine were not plowed. There was approximately 9-12 inches of snow
at the East Mine gate. The slushy nature of the snowpack made access by foot prohibitive.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 5
