Ralston Quarry Slope Stability <br /> No retention pond was constructed below this reach, however, and addition tailings and <br /> other excavated materials have been placed against the lower portion of the slope as <br /> shown in the photograph below. <br /> r y.°F <br /> Zone 2 Slope seen from the southwest <br /> The additional fill appears to act as a buttress to increase the factor of safety of this <br /> reach of slope. No slope failures have been reported in this zone, or noted on historic <br /> aerial photographs reviewed for this study. <br /> Slope stability analyses of this zone of the slope (Section A — A') indicated a <br /> Morgenstern-Price factor of safety against failure of about 1.25, as shown on the <br /> SlopeV\10 output on the next page, even with the groundwater at the contact between the <br /> tailings and the underlying, native soils. <br /> Job No. 18-3046 GROUND Engineering Consultants, Inc.
