Our priorties will include:
Site check and condition:
Control Ideas (Chemical,Mechanical, Biological, etc...:
Current and potential impacts of the species:
Application:
Post check:
Site Check and Condition:
We will check the site and the condition of the weed infestations to determine our means of control. Once
finding our weed problem and properly identifying it then we will figure out the best most logical way to
control it.
Control Ideas:
There are several different ways of control, we typically will apply a herbicide application but other possible
ways would be Dragging your land to keep new growth from establishing also you can mow infestations to
keep them from flowering and setting seed.
Current and potential impacts of the Species:
Weeds out compete many wanted species for sunlight and water, once they have taken the native species out
they will take an area over in no time at all. Once a weed problem is present it can take 3 to 5 years to get it
maintained depending on various conditions.
Application
Once we have all of our site specific problem areas identified we can then begain an application. We will
choose the best approach to manage our problem weeds with the least amount of harm to native species.
Application will be done with properly calibrated equipment as well as the right herbicide mixture and
application rates for the site and job.
Post check
After application we will return to the site 3 times per year and see how our control methods worked and
inspect our percentage of control as well as make future plans for the site.
Specific Actions Planned
Once we arrive to the site we will make a herbicide application to control many noxious weeds including
Halogeton. We will make this application at the appropriate time where herbicide uptake is available and
conditions will allow. We will choose from many Different herbicides which may include Telar, Escort,
2,4-d, Plateau etc.... once application is complete we will return to site to evaluate control methods.
3
