COLORADO
# nfvWun of Feolamatioxi ,
Miming arca safety
UgWlmer~r o4 N,lluraj RLSOUTCeS
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
Inter Office Memorandum
To: Brock Bowles, DRMS
From: Robin Reilley, M.S; GISP, DRMS
Date: 16 1an2019
RE: New Horizon; C1981008
Technical Revision, TR87
I was requested to assess the above referenced permit revision with respect the proposal to
construct an erosion protection inlet to Pond 13 to accommodate trench drain discharge into the
pond with respect to Rules 4.05.5 Sediment Control Measures and 2.05.6(3), Protection of the
Hydrologic Balance.
My review of the maps and associated documents follow.
DRMS notes that as per Map 2.05.3(3)-32 and associated text there is no indication of the volume of
water expected to be transmitted in the trench drain, nor is there any reference to the the area of land to
be drained. Also, SedCad modeling for the trench drain and riprap sizing were missing.
The information provided is inadequate to make a determination of compliance with the above
mentioned rules.
Please submit the following:
1. SedCad Modeling for trench drain.
2. Volume of water to be carried in the drain
3. Drainage area acres serving trench drain
4. Rip rap sizing.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Thank you
Robin Reilley, M.S; GISP
Environmental Protection Specialist
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 http://mining.state.co.us I
*WL Jared Polis, Governor Virginia Brannon, Director
