1_3 Rapid Draw Down Conditions
The rapid draw down conditions examine the 21-1:1 V slope assuming a piezometric within the
material, keeping it saturated, but the phreatic surface removed, so that there is no containment
pressure from flood water. These conditions produce a FOS<1 for the minimum. Therefore, an
iterative analysis was undertaken to determine the location of the failure slope at FOS = 1.50;
this slope can be seen in Figure 3. The X-Left of the failure slope, where it intercepts the material
slope, is 36. That is 34 feet from the crest of the 2H:1 V slope. Since that crest is 50 feet setback
from the permit boundary, a failure slope at FOS = 1.50 will not reach the permit boundary.
Therefore, no offsite structures that are further away will be damage during rapid draw down
conditions following a flood.
Material Keys
I Sane and giantl.r irM gra4 We
5g00 i--
5880'- Permit Boundary
5880''l
59a0''
5820
5800-
5780
Analysis 3
5790h- Multiole Stability Analyss
Metdoo Bishop S'mplified
Sariae.
