In the Parcel A permit
area this includes the western wash plant, sediment pond, and stockpile area, the
parking area on the north side of the site, the disturbed areas adjacent to the pit
road in the north mining area and along the ditch to the river north of the pit, the
area west of the pit entrance road(including scale house area), Phases 1-4 of the
north mining area (that have been reclaimed), Phases 5-12 of the north mining
area (active mining area), Phases 13-17 of the south mining area (stockpiles area),
the stockpile area in the south mining area, and the entire Parcel B permit area
south of County Road Hh.5.
15) Pursuant to Rule 6.4.4(e), please provide an approximate timetable for the proposed
phases of mining including estimated disturbance acreage amounts for each phase. Please
be sure this mining timetable correlates with the reclamation timetable in Exhibit E.
Response: As mentioned in the original amendment application, the mining
production rate is expected to range from 500,000 tons per year to 1,500,000 tons
per year. The mining and reclamation of Phases 1-4 is complete. Using a
production rate of 1,000,000 tons per year Phases 5-12 are estimated to be mined
according to the following sequence and timeline:
Phase Estimated Time Estimated Total
Sequence Required to Mine Mining Time
Phases (years)
ears
1-4 Mining Complete 0 years
8,11 2 years 2 years
7,10 2 years 4 years
5,6 2 years 6 years
9,12 2 years 8 ears
At this time Phases 13 through 17 in the south mining area will be used only for
stockpiling and sediment ponds. They are planned to be mined in the future. Prior
to mining the south mining area PAO commits to submitting a technical revision
to provide the mining timetable for these phases. See the attached revised Exhibit
D narrative.
16) Please provide more details on the future conveyor shown on the Exhibit C - Pre-
Mining/Mining Plan Map which is oriented northeast-southwest from the wash plant to Co
Rd HH.5. Please provide its approximate dimensions, and any permanent structures
associated with its construction (i.e. concrete footing). Would this conveyor cross Co Rd
HH.5 to Parcel B? If so, would the portion of the conveyor crossing the road be covered to
prevent sand from spilling onto the road? Additionally, would this specific activity require
any additional permitting with the county?
Response: At this time PAO has decided not to install any conveyor from the
wash plant to the south and it has been removed from the map. PAO will submit a
technical revision to the permit including details of the structures if they decide to
install any permanent conveyor structures within the permit area.
17) Please provide more details on the activities to occur in Parcel B during operations.
Response: Sand and gravel products will be stockpiled in the Parcel B area for
loading onto rail cars on the rail spur on the south side of the parcel.
