Exhibit "E"
Reclamation Plan
6.4.5 The Reclamation Plan for the BIG "G" GRAVEL PIT is as follows (Please also see
map):
(1) The Operation/Applicant has prepared a reclamation plan that addresses the
following items; final grading, which includes drainage, seeding, fertilizing, vegetation,
and topsoiling. The plan is based on the Reclamation Plan submitted by RICHARD
RHODES District Conservationist of the Pueblo field office of the NRCS. His plan is
incorporated in this application package in Exhibit "J".
(2) This Reclamation plan includes provisions for all the general Requirements for this
mine site to be restored to a post mining use of Rangeland. To accomplish this the
side slopes will be graded to 3 horizontal to 1 vertical (3H:1 V) or flatter. The affected
lands will be planted with grass that the NRCS has Recommended, topsoil will be
replaced to a depth of 6" with approximately 18" of overburden material used as a
subsoil.
(a) The operator/applicant will reclaim this mine site back to Rangeland as the
landowner directed. This site is on a working Ranch and after mining is completed
the land will be use for cattle grazing, and the haul roads will be left for use by the
landowner on the ranch.
The earth moving will be done by dozer and front-end loaders and the side slopes
will be mine at a 3H:1 V gradient or flatter to facilitate reclamation, when using farm
equipment to prepare the seedbed and grass seeding. The land shaping of the
affected area will be done in such a manner as to enhance the surrounding
rangeland. To accomplish this stormwater will be managed to prevent erosion and
promote vegetation growth.
(b) As stated before the proposed post-mining land use will be Rangeland to be
consistent with the surrounding lands which are Rangeland. The NRCS
Reclamation plan will be implemented to the affected area. This is consistent with
the landowner ranching operation.
