Wade Wymore of GCC Energy was present for the entire inspection. The
weather conditions were clear and cold. The ground was snow covered and the temperature was approximately 8F.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10;
Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
King II-
The check dams in ditch ID3 along the fan access road have been cleaned and the berm was repaired (photo 1).
The inlet to culvert C6 was started to be cleaned but was not finished due to the snowy conditions.
The inlets to C8 and C10 (photo 2) were free of obstructions.

PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11
Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement:
King I-
The coal waste created by the air jig at the King II facilities is being temporarily stored in piles on the King I
facilities area until it is placed on the approved waste pile and compacted. The waste is being stored in two non-
compacted piles, one at the bottom of the approved waste pile and the other on top of the approved pile. The area
around the upper non-compacted pile needs to be contoured so that water will not pond behind the pile and can
drain to the southern water collection ditch. The mine plan will have to be reviewed and updated to account for
these non-compacted piles.
