2.05.5 Postmining Land Uses <br />(1) Surface Coal Mining Activities - Not applicable. <br />(2) Underground Mining Activities <br />(a) The premining land use of the area to be disturbed by the surface facilities <br />is industrial and fish and wildlife east of Reed Wash, combination <br />rangeland and fish and wildlife habitat west of Reed Wash. The <br />postmining land use of the area will be the same, industrial and fish and <br />wildlife habitat, and a combination rangeland and fish and wildlife. <br />Most of the area to be disturbed is industrial. One major vegetation <br />community, Greasewood, will be disturbed. The final reclamation of these <br />areas will provide habitat suitable for wildlife habitat. <br />(a)(i) The proposed postmining land use will be achieved by reclaiming select <br />disturbed areas and planting same in accordance with the reclamation <br />plan presented in section 2.05.4. A specific future industrial land use is <br />not has not been determined at this time. However, at present, <br />reclamation of the site to support a future industrial use would entail <br />facilities removal, site clean-up and grading. The barren industrial area <br />will not be vegetated <br />No special support activities are necessary to achieve the proposed land use. <br />(a)(ii) Not Applicable <br />(a)(iii) The proposed surface coal mining and reclamation operations are <br />consistent with the surface owner plans and programs. The surface is <br />owned by the Applicant. <br />The Applicant plans to utilize the surface to support the loadout <br />operations. When the loadout is not needed the Applicant plans to restore <br />the surface to its highest and best use which is currently considered to be <br />industrial and fish and wildlife east of Reed Wash and rangeland and fish <br />and wildlife habitat west of Reed Wash. Industrial is the highest and best <br />use for the majority of the land east of Reed Wash as it is surrounded by <br />Permit Application 2.05-42 0711 <br />
