were observed in the chambers or the highwall above the portals and recesses (Figure 8). <br /> Underground fractures are located with orientation and dip on the attached Gallery Map, see <br /> Appendix 2, and are depicted on stereonets in Appendix 1. Water was not noted to be seeping in <br /> any of the underground discontinuity planes. The discontinuity spacing was quite wide and <br /> appeared to be consistent throughout all surface observations with that observed in the <br /> underground portions of the quarry. Weathering was observed to only affect rock within 20 feet <br /> of the surface and consisted of oxidation of the feldspar minerals causing minor exfoliation of <br /> the granite outcrops. Minor seepage occurred in surface fractures near the portal entries and are <br /> historically unchanged over the mine's life (Figure 9).
