11/15/2018
State.co.us Executive Branch Mail - Re: Southfield
Mr. Gorham,
Thank you for bringing this to the Division's attention. After reviewing the Division's permitting system, it was discovered
that a date in one of the input fields was missing which allowed the inspection reports to auto generate the violation
summary. This has been corrected and will not occur moving forward with future inspections reports. With the dissolution
of Energy Fuels, LLC., there is no longer an operator to send an issuance letter of revocation of the Southfield Mine (C-
1981-019) to. The final notification for the purpose of filing with the Division is the Board Order that was Done and
Ordered on August 30, 2018.
Sincerely,
On Tue, Nov 13, 2018 at 11:24 AM KENT GORHAM <gorham18@comcast.net> wrote:
Hi Zach,
I read in your inspection report that you had a conversation with Mr. Mergen on your last
Southfield inspection. He and his family have a unique way of dealing with people.
I was wondering why the inspection report still gives information about the three violations that
have long ago been handled through a settlement agreement signed in late 2017. It would seem
like termination of these NOV's and CO's is warranted and further discussion of these violations
is no longer appropriate in the inspection report.
Also, I note that the 35 days have passed from the signing of the Board Order to terminate the
permit and forfeit the bond, with apparently no comments or objections. Will there be any formal
letter or notification of this fact from DRMS for the record?
Thanks for your help.
-r . rI1
Gorham Energy Consultants
https://mail.google.com/mail/b/ANR_UvRsU3soxGEiNnGGQIwOzFSONZ6afQCbl b-_fbQ1 WOxrah3V/u/0?ik=deb7fOcd20&view=pt&search=all&permthi... 1/2
