Safety <br /> Dear Ms. Eschberger: <br /> CEMEX would like to request Technical Revision(TR)#4 to the Sandstone Quarry DBMS mining and <br /> reclamation permit No.M-1977-361.The purpose of TR#4 is to notify DRMS of CEMEX's intent to: <br /> 1. Increase the annual production of sandstone beyond what was estimated in the approved Mining Plan, <br /> and <br /> 2.Relocate the topsoil stockpiles within the affected area boundary. <br /> Sandstone Production Quantity <br /> The current Sandstone Quarry Mining Plan that was approved as a part of AM-oi (July 2014)has a 10-year <br /> mining schedule with an estimated 25,00o to 31,00o tons of production per year.The actual production rate <br /> has been significantly lower than this during the years of operations from 2014—2017. However,CEMEX is <br /> providing notification of intent for an increased rate of raw material extraction over the next few years. <br /> CEMEX holds Colorado Operating Permit#95OPB0082 issued by the Colorado Department of Public Health and <br /> Environment(CDPHE)to limit Sandstone Quarry surface mining activities to 70,00o tons/year or less and this <br /> quantity shall notbeexceeded.Thetota|affectedaneaimpactedbyminingandnedamationactivitieswiUnot <br /> be changed and the total impacted acreage shall not exceed 9.99 acres. Furthermore,the mining operations as <br /> outlined within the current mining plan shall not be altered other than the increased production rate.The <br /> estimated total area to be mined during the 2018 and 2019 calendar years is shown on the attached map to <br /> formally update the area originally proposed in the CEMEX Annual Report submitted in September 2018. <br /> 5tockpil_e}<e\ocation <br /> Section 3.1.9(4)of the Mineral Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for the <br /> Extraction of Construction Materials requires operators to receive approval prior to relocating topsoil <br /> stockpiles.There are currently two growth media stockpiles within the affected area that will need to be <br /> moved to complete the approved mining plan(see attached map).These two stockpiles contain a total of <br /> approximately 20,000 cubic yards of soil. <br /> The proposed new location for these stockpiles is on the north edge of the pit on top of the inert material <br /> imported in 2014 under TR#2(see attached map).The two stockpiles will be consolidated into a single stockpile <br /> United States Operations <br />
