2018 RILL & GULLY SURVEY

WILLIAMS FORK MINE

Inspectors: Miranda Kawcak (Moffat County Mining – Williams Fork Mine)
Dates: June, and September 2018
Locations: William’s Fork Strip Pit and the Utah Tract

On the above date Mrs. Kawcak conducted an inspection of the subject
locations.

The William’s Fork Strip Pit was inspected during the summer. MCM will be
submitting a Phase I, II, & III bond release for the William’s Fork Strip Pit
area in the fall of 2018. It should be noted that only one of the 4 ponds in the
area will be released and the other three will be reclaimed and released at a
later date. Reclamation of the three ponds is predicted to take place in 2019.
The William’s Fork Strip Pit was traversed along the perimeter of the pit and
along the drainage where the high wall had been reclaimed. Vegetation in
the reclaimed area has been successful and the Sage brush has created great
wildlife habitat. For the bond release application a Top Soil Analysis was
performed in September to evaluate and verify the topsoil depth. During the
summer inspection some random rills were observed, but are considered to be
a minor concern, and do not require any maintenance. The area appears
adequately vegetated, with a few minor sparse areas. In terms of weeds, the
area looked very good, with only a very few sporadic thistle and knapweed
noted. Note that heavy weed spraying conducted for Russian knapweed in
2011 and 2012 appeared to pay off. No additional maintenance items were
noted.

Herbicide spot spraying and aerial application by land leasee targeted weed
species included Russian knapweed, Houndstongue, hoary cress (white-top),
Mullin, Canadian thistle, and a minor amount of Dalmation Toadflax.
Selective herbicide applications utilized 2,4 -D amine, Escort, and Activator
90, as well as Tordon. Spraying was conducted in June.

The Utah Tract was visited by Miranda Kawcak during the second and third
quarter of 2017. The Topsoil Analysis was also conducted throughout the
Utah Tract for verification for the up-coming bond release. Vegetation looked
very good. There were no excessive rills or gullies occurring in this area. Area
drainage ditches were stable and functioning as designed. Weeds were sparse
and vegetation was healthy. The Access road entering the Utah Tract
through the Trapper Permit area continues to be rutted and may require
