Small Spills
Stop source of spill if safe to do so.Contain as much product as possible using an inert absorbent material stored on site and
dispose of according to local laws and regulation.Rinse spill area with water, absorb with inert material or containerize all rinse
water and dispose of according to local laws and regulations.
Large Spills
Stop source of spill if safe to do so.Divert all flow and contain as much product as possible using an inert material.Begin a con-
tainerization process as soon as practical.Rinse spill area with water after cleanup is complete and containerize all rinse water.
Remove material or neutralize in place, then remove for proper disposal according to federal, local, and state laws.A spill will be
reported of the Department of Mining and Reclamation within a 24 hour period.
The flocculant holding tank is not adjacent to the thickener, how is liquid transferred between tanks to avoid spills?
A chemical pump delivers the mixed solution from the holding tank to the rapid thickener via a protected 3/4 inch rubber hose
designed for delivering the flocculant. All valving, pumping and pipes are sealed to avoid any leakage.
2. Reclamation Plan
b. Pursuant to Rule 6.3.4(1)(e),specify the reclamation treatment and disposal of all chemicals and waste products. Pursuant to
Rules 3.1.5(5), (10), (11),and 3.1.6,describe how the chemicals and waste products will be disposed in a manner protective of hydrologic
resources. Locate and label onsite disposal locations for all processing chemicals and waste products on the updated Reclamation Plan
Map.
How will left over dry flocculant be disposed of?
Left over dry flocculant will be sent back to the manufacture-Polymerventures:1612 HARBOR VIEW RD
CHARLESTON,SC,29412-3216 United States(843)853-8817.
Used up bags will be delivered to disposed of by Laidlaw of Colorado- 907 386 2293
3. Additional Adequacy Issues for TR-01
a. MSDS Section 7 states this material is safe to store in well ventilated areas at ambient temperatures. The revised mining plan states
storage in Conex which gets hot and has little air flow. Explain how this is an acceptable means of storage.
The Connex box will be vented to prevent overly hot conditions. In addition no other chemicals will be stored in the Connex box.
The connex box is provides a contained dry place for the DAF 30.
b. MSDS Section 7 states this material is incompatible with strong oxidizing agent.Furthermore MSDS Section 10 states oxidizing
agent may cause exothermic reactions. Will this material be mixed with any other chemicals?Or stored in close proximity to strong oxidiz-
ing agents?
The DAF 30 will not be mixed with any other chemicals. No other chemicals will be stored with the DAF 30,especially strong
oxidizing agents.
c. MSDS Section 13 requires disposal in approved chemical landfill including empty containers.Include this disposal information in
the reclamation plan.
11(1‘11
I 6
AuPt Industries LLC I 970 306 1784 I P.O.Box 1424- ards,CO 81632
