11)(Optional) Please provide additional information about the Reclamation Plan: <br /> Previous mined sites in the district demonstrate that sagebrush and native grasses will easy adapt to mined sites. <br /> Specifics for the reclamation plan include <br /> (a)Only topsoil 10"-12"of depth lies above the gravels to be processed.Overburden,except for the topsoil does not exist. <br /> (b)The maximum gradient of reclaimed slopes will be a 3:1 ratio. <br /> (c)Measures to re-vegetate site <br /> (i)Salvaged topsoil which averages 10"-12"in depth will be used as the primary growth media. <br /> (ii)Seeding will occur after September 1 and before the first frost.No-till seeder will be used to prepare the seedbed and to <br /> sow the native grass seed mix. <br /> (iii)Native grass seed mix with pure live seed per acre: <br /> Indian Ricegrass Acnatherum hymenoides 1.85 <br /> Western Wheatgrass Pascopyrum smithii 2.76 <br /> Needle and thread Hilariajamesii 3.03 <br /> Galleta Elymus elymoides 2.19 <br /> Basin wild rye Leymus cinereus 3.03 <br /> Scarlett globemallow Sphaeralcea cocciena 0.25 <br /> (iv)A no-till seeder will be used -no adjustment for pls <br /> (d)After reclamation all ponds,well features(as per State Land Boards request)and access road will be removed and <br /> reclaimed.Reclamation will provide an opportunity to reclaim past workings in the disturbed areas.These areas were last <br /> worked in 1896. <br /> (e)Rapid Thicener And Flocculant <br /> No facilities or foundations will remain after reclamation.The foundation used for the rapid thickener will be demolished and <br /> used as fill material for some of the small washes that lead into the process water pond(less than 5 yards of concrete was used <br /> for the foundation). <br /> Flocculant is consumed during the sedimentation process within the rapid thickener.The flocculant and clays form a mud of <br /> 50%solids which is pumped into the north pond.Mud is occasionally removed from the pond and added to reclamation fill. <br /> Spills will be cleaned up with absorbent material and disposed of with accordance to all laws. <br /> Left over dry flocculant will be sent back to the manufacture-Polymerventures:1612 HARBOR VIEW RD <br /> CHARLESTON,SC,29412-3216 United States(843)853-8817. <br /> Used up bags will be delivered to disposed of by Laidlaw of Colorado- 907 386 2293 <br /> The foundation for the rapid thickener is constructed with 6 sonotube concrete pillars. Less than 5 cubic yards of concrete <br /> was used in the construction of the foundation.Demolished concrete foundation will be used as backfill for the reclamation <br /> of the North Pond. <br />
